Finding the Moments That Define Your Event

Sydney's Synagogue Photos

This simcha was a little bit different for me; I only photographed Sydney's synagogue session because I was a guest at the reception. I've known Sydney and her family for 11 years - since Sydney and my daughter met in preschool.  The girls have grown up going to Hebrew school together and for the past 4 (5?) years they have gone to the same school.  When Robin asked me if I would photograph the bat mitzvah, she also asked me if I wanted, instead, to just be a guest and she would hire someone else.  I couldn't pass up the opportunity to document this event for the Tarantinos but damn, I wanted to drink some beer at the reception.

You'll notice there are far less posed photos in this sneak peek...I usually like to showcase nicely composed synagogue images on the blog but I've known the Tarantinos for too long not to post the images that speak to me about the family that they are.  Turns out those images are the fun, hugging, mugging for the camera images.  So be it.

I could say a thousand nice things about this family because they truly are salt of the earth people.  Instead I will say thank you - thank you for allowing me to be part of your special day in such a meaningful way.  Love you guys xoxoxo
