Finding the Moments That Define Your Event

Samantha's Bat Mitzvah :: Temple Rodef Shalom, McLean, VA

Nanci booked me 2 years ago for Samanatha's bat mitzvah and at the time it was the furthest out I'd ever booked an event (now it happens quite often). Boy does time fly!

Two years after meeting her for the first time I got to photograph Samantha's 'Lights, Camera, Samantha' party and it was awesome.  Carin Lomax of Events Extraordinaire was the event planner and, per usual, the party was flawless.  One of my favorite parts of the party was the step and repeat they had set up outside the ballroom.  It was a great way to get photos of all the guests and also set their expectations of what was to come.

My favorite part about the family?  Their warmth, no doubt.  I get that not every family is touchy feel and not every family likes to hug each other and smush each other in photos.  But the Weissgolds did and it made for better photos.  I have a few photos of mom and dad in which the girls photobombed and I love that Nanci and Bruce are laughing about it instead of being upset that they crashed the photo.  They are great photos that, though they may not be the ones they frame on the wall, are photos which perfectly showcase this family's connection to each other.

Thanks Nanci, Bruce, Sydney and Samantha for letting me be a part of your big day; enjoy the photos!
