Finding the Moments That Define Your Event

RACHEL'S BAT MITZVAH :: temple rodef shalom & clarendon ballroom

This right here?  THIS was my favorite part of Rachel's bat mitzvah.

I wore white, leather, platform Keds sneakers with my wedding gown (much to the horror of my mother-in-law) and any 13-year-old girl with enough moxy to wear pink Chuck Taylors with her party dress wins.  Just plain out wins.

I have never seen a kid dance more or more enthusiastically at their own event than Rachel did (and I've seen a lot of bar and bat mitzvahs).  She was front and center for all the dances and stomped and yelled and sang her way through the reception; it was fantastic to see her enjoying her own event that much.

But I also really liked the Dickman family.  I didn't post them here, but I have many, many photos of them at the synagogue portraits making funny faces and goofing around with each other.  It was refreshing ~ sometimes families are nervous or anxious at the synagogue photos but Ellen, Barry, Rachel and Julia were hams and just had fun with it.

Thank you, guys, for allowing me to be part of your special day.  It was a fantastic reception and I loved working with you.  Enjoy this small sample of photos to come!
