Finding the Moments That Define Your Event

I've always said I love photographing families for the 2nd (or 3rd time).  It's nice to know they enjoyed working with me enough to hire me again and there is a built-in trust and relationship that makes for great photos. I met the Chmara's through their event planner (Carin Lomax/Events Extraordinaire) when I photographed their daughter's bat mitzvah 2 1/2 years ago.  Needless to say I was thrilled when Stephanie called me to photograph Joe's bar mitzvah.

The entire family (extended family included) is fun and easy-going and they like to goof around.  My dream clients.  And the reception was a dream, too ~ Carin knocked it out of the park with Joe's sport theme.  It was a sophisticated version of the stuff you usually see at sports-themed receptions; check out the photos and you'll see what I mean.

So the party was awesome and there were a LOT of folks there; have you ever tried photographing a 13-year-old boy with 80 of his closest friends?  I believe the word is 'scrum' ~ the formation in rugby where all the players pack together as tightly as possible and then maneuver for the ball?  Yeah, that.  It made for some great photos, though!

Thanks, Stephanie, Adam (Steve!), Lauren and Joe ~ I adore your family and loved working with again.  Enjoy the sneak peek :)
