Finding the Moments That Define Your Event

HARPER'S BAT MITZVAH || BETH SHALOM + TEN OAKS BALLROOM

Is it possible to feel inferior to a 13-year old?  I met Harper a while ago but it wasn't until right before her bat mitzvah last weekend that I found out how incredible she is.  Straight A student?  Check.  Excellent golf player?  Check.  Girl Scout?  Check.  Clarinet player in the school band?  Check.  For her bat mitzvah project, Harper organized a team for Relay for Life; her Girl Scout troop hosted several fundraisers and manned a popcorn station the night of the relay.  And because leading services on Saturday, the day of her bat mitzvah wasn't enough Harper also led the Friday night Shabbat service. When I was her age?  I think I did some babysitting and played soccer.  That's it. I might have volunteered because my mom made me but I certainly wasn't organizing events.

I'm posting a few more detail photos than I normally post in my previews; I usually like to highlight the people at the event but Michelle and Howard went above and beyond with Harper's theme (Hawaiian).  The sign in board?  It was a custom made surf board her grandfather made.  Balloons and candles and palm trees and signature drinks for the adults made this a fantastic event (made me wish I as attending as a guest instead of a vendor!).

Congrats Harper, Michelle, Howard and Logan ~ thank you for allowing me to capture such a special day for your family!
