Finding the Moments That Define Your Event

Amy's bat mitzvah kicked off the beginning of mitzvah season for me and she was the perfect way to start off ~ sweet and easy going and comfortable in front of the camera.  And her mom?  Let me sum it up with this (paraphrased) quote from the bimah photos the morning of the service, "The photos are important but it's more important to me that things be easy and not stressful."  Um, favorite client ever? I had a great time with the Blanchard/Bennett family ~ they laughed together and smushed close together which makes for wonderful photographs.  Josh was a little tired and So. Over. having his photo taken but even he was a trooper (and once I knew I could heckle him a little bit, I made sure to single him out for not smiling or looking bored.  He was a great sport.)

The reception was held that evening at the temple and the best thing about Temple Isaiah (my temple, too!) is that they have a huge dance floor so everyone can get up and dance.  The DJ kept the kids on their feet all night and most of the adults were out ~ especially during the adult dance set which included one of my all time favorites songs, 'Shook Me All Night Long'.

It was a great evening with a fantastic family and I'm thankful they trusted me to capture it all for them.
