a quick break

we’re in hilton head with my family (minus my little brother) and it’s so much fun to watch my kids and my older brother’s kids play together. the best part is that the girls are only 7 months apart and the two older boys are only 2 months apart. little seth is only 2 but he has no problem keeping up.

i gathered the kids outside this morning for some photos before they got sick and tired of each other (which i’m guessing is going to be about 5pm this afternoon).

not sure how these will look; i proofed them on my laptop. they probably look much more saturated and contrasty than my normal images, but eh. whatever.

got to photograph a repeat client yesterday – julie hired me the first time about 3 years ago to photograph her family and then hired me to photograph her son’s bar mitzvah two years ago. yesterday was jordan’s day; her actual bat mitzvah is on monday but julie wanted to do the family photos ahead of time. the kids weren’t too happy about getting up early on a teacher work day, but it ended up working out really well. the stress level was way down and we weren’t rushed to get everything done before services started. selfishly, it was also nice to have the entire sanctuary to myself; normally, on the day of the bar/bat mitzvah, i have to share the bimah with the other families’ photographer.
