weinstein bar mitzvah

i had the great privilege of photographing ben’s bar mitzvah this past weekend.  i knew it would be a fun gig because his dad, jon, has a wicked sense of humor and he can give it as well as he gets it.  the entire family was game for my goofy jokes and tricks to get them to smile without looking cheesy.  they humored me and made my job easy AND fun.  thanks, guys!

by all accounts ben did a super job (the temple doesn’t allow photos during the service) and it’s no surprise; ben is a genuinely nice kid with a great sense of humor and more maturity than most 13-year-olds i know (and look at him!  i sure don’t remember 13-year-old boys looking like this when i was that age. my 5-year-old son came into my office while i was proofing these photos and asked me why i had taken photos of zac efron).

i’m still working on the photos from the reception, but here are a few of my favorites from the temple:

What a beautiful family we are blessed with and thanks to Kristen, these photos are a wonderful memento of a fantastic simcha. Ben was super, we are so proud of him! Can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures!

Seeing these amazing photos only re-inforced the fact that I have been blessed with the most beautiful children and grandchildren.
Benjamin has always been a source of pride, and proved this at his call to the Torah as a Bar Mitzvah. I can’t wait to see the rest of the photos. Thanks to Kristen, (she was the best) this day will be a reminder of my “nachas”.

Anna, I am Jon’s sister and let me tell you….YOU were the best photographer I have ever met and we have had quite a few parties.
You were like part of the party, never obnoxious and have a wonderful personality which blended right in to our family and friends.
We can’t wait to see the pics.

Yours Truly,
Karen

Amazing pictures!

Fabulous photos! Kristin was amazing — she was everywhere and yet invisible at the same time. I’ve been to many events where the flow of the day is determined (and interrupted) by the photographer’s needs, but here it was just the reverse. Kristin rolled with the punches, constantly adapting to the needs of the moment. And you can see the results!

Jon Weinstein - November 17, 2009 - 2:01 pm

WOW!!! I know my kid is good looking, but these photos are amazing! Among all the events I have attended with photographers, I have never had as good an experience or have had the guests say how great the photographer was – and they haven’t even seen the pictures!!!
